Importance of Computer Education for kids:
Technical knowledge has become the need of the hour. Computers help the students to learn about the world and know what is happening in it. It can improve the student’s learning process and basic skill area.
During the present Covid 19 scenario, students are using computers for online learning and for additional knowledge. Computer and internet are working as a mediator between teacher and students. Learning has become virtual these days.
So, it is very important to teach kids about computer and its various parts, especially during such crucial time. In this article, I am sharing with you all the PARTS OF COMPUTER FOR GRADE 1 STUDENTS.
PARTS OF COMPUTER FOR GRADE 1 STUDENTS
You can teach the kids about Parts of a computer by telling them that, as you have body parts like, eyes, ears, hands etc. a computer also has many parts.

Now let us understand the functions of these different parts of computer.
1. LED/LCD ( Monitor)
A computer monitor is an output device that displays information in pictorial form. Whatever you type on keyboard, you can see it on the monitor.
The monitor is composed of a case and a screen that displays the information. We can see text, pictures, cartoons, movies, etc. on the monitor screen.
A keyboard is an input device. It is composed of buttons, which are also called keys. We use keyboard to type letters, numbers, words, symbols, and perform additional functions. It gives instructions to the computer.
CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. It is the brain of the computer. The CPU performs basic arithmetic, logic, controlling, and input/output (I/O) operations specified by the instructions in the program.
Just like your brain, CPU performs the work according to your instructions and controls other parts of the computer like monitor, keyboard etc.
All the data processing operations within a computer are controlled by the CPU.
Other names of CPU are processor, computer processor, microprocessor, central processor, and “the brains of the computer.”
A computer mouse is a hand-held pointing device that detects two-dimensional motion relative to a surface. Its shape and size is just like a real mouse. This mouse also has a tail which connects it with the CPU.
Moving a mouse along a flat surface can move the on-screen cursor to different items on the screen. We can move or select the Items, by pressing the mouse buttons.
Pressing of the mouse buttons is called Clicking.
Elements of a mouse – a scroll wheel, two buttons, and a mouse ball. The scroll wheel allows the person to scroll pages from the mouse itself.
